Delta Builds Web-Based Abstract Submission System for UM-CME

Dots!

The University of Missouri School of Medicine’s Office of Continuing Medical Education (UM-CME) needed an online system to capture abstract submissions for their annual conference on dialysis research and treatment.

See the system at http://www.DialysisAbstracts.com/

Hundreds of entries come in from all over the world. The system allows judges to read and rate each abstract from any computer on the planet. The scores are then summarized and the abstracts are ranked. Additionally, the task of editing the abstracts for length so they would fit in a 4″ by 5.25″ area (4 per page) was eliminated by building a system that allows authors to see exactly what will fit in that amount of space (including images, tables, text, and lists in any layout the author chooses) before they submit their abstract for review. This has helped to greatly simplify the process of generating a printed version of the abstracts that is distributed at the conference.
